Hello everyone,

Just a quick reminder that we will be out in full force in front of
The Purple Sock on Canada Day, Friday, July 1st!

The street festivities start at 11 and go to 3'ish ...and we will be set up under the canopy with our beautiful hand made bunting, and our lawn chairs, water bottles, knitting, crocheting, rug hooking, spinning and whatever other hand work you choose to enjoy!

  This is our celebration of
"World Wide Knit in Public" Day with the yarn bombing of the trees along the Main Street, so come join in the fun!  And what a fabulous way to expose the public to our passion for the fibre arts.

Our special gift to you on this 149th Canada Day, is 10% off any Canadian yarn or fibre!!

In addition to our activities  there will be games for the kids , bouncy castles  and popcorn , a pie eating contest and a great band all sponsored by the Coldwater Business Improvement Association.

This promises to be a great day all around, for young and old alike! Maybe even some great sidewalk sales, I know I have some yarns I will be  putting on clearance,  a great time to stock up!!

  Hope to see you then
  Happy Knitting,
  Lynn

Gradient dye workshop

Hi Everyone,

Please let me know ASAP if you want to join in on one of these dye days as I think this will fill up fast!! The workshop will be held at my home which is about 10 minutes from Coldwater. We will be doing the dyeing outside, so here is hoping for a nice day. I do have an awning we can use if it is raining.

A light lunch is included, and we will have time to sit and knit while we wait for our yarn blanks to cook.

I think this will be a really fun time. We will be dyeing on fingering weight yarn blanks, so you will have enough yarn for a pair of socks or a small shawl, or if you choose to dye more than one enough for a larger project. If you do decide to do a second or third blank, you will need to bring cash to pay for them.

Please reply to this email as soon as you decide if you wish to sign up.
Payment for this workshop is required in advance in either Cash, Debit, VISA , Mastercard
or e -transfer.

Happy knitting!

Great new Gadget!!

NEEDLE KEEPER

THE "MAGIC WAND"
View this email in your browser
Hi Everyone

This is a great new product , it promises to be a life saver for some of us (me for sure). It holds your circular needles when you are not knitting.

Simply insert your needles into the silicone end; within seconds your needles, stitches and cord join are all protected. It will not come off until you take it off!! Now it is safe to put  your knitting into your bag and go. No broken needles, no lost stitches!! Holds up to two 5.5mm needles. They are lightweight, and incredibly strong.

They come in a whole range of great colours!!
So come in and take a look , I know you will wonder how you ever managed without one or two or three LOL for all of your projects !!

Happy Knitting

Canada Day and Yarn Bombing !!

Canada Day Celebration and Yarn Bombing!!

 Hi Everyone,

Canada Day you say? That is a month away, so why am I sending this now!!?

Last year on Canada Day, we also celebrated "World Wide Knit in Public Day" by setting up an awning on the street, and having a wonderful Sip and Stitch right in front of the shop! It included knitting, rug hooking and spinning, and any other fibre arts anyone wanted to do. More about this in a week or two.

We also did some yarn bombing that day, in addition to hanging up our wonderful bunting that was made a couple of years ago. We yarn bombed a spinning wheel, and also two of the trees on the main street. The trees as you can see by the picture in the email were covered in red and white knitting and crocheting, to celebrate the Birthday of this great country of ours. I have kept the tree coverings from last year, and really hope we can make enough to do at least a couple more trees to add to it.

So, if you feel so inclined to do a bit of red and/or white knitting or crocheting to add to the collection, I would be very grateful!! The pieces (any length) should be about 16 or 17 inches wide, (the trees are not all the same , so the pieces do not need to be all the same LOL,). I do have some red and white scrap yarn at the shop and have ordered in some very inexpensive yarn to use when that is gone. So feel free to stop by and pick some Up.

I will need the pieces handed in a few days before July 1st, in order for us to sew them together, so lets see what we can come up with!

We have one month to go, and we all know that the time just seems to fly by!!

Happy Knitting!
